France's record cap earner was discovered to have a cardiac problem while undergoing a routine medical as he prepared to sign for Paris Saint-Germain early in July...









When the Netherlands hammered France 4-1 in Berne on the 13th of June, veteran central defender Lillian Thuram would have laughed off suggestions that this match would be his career swansong. But a poor individual and team performance led to Thuram volunteering to be sideline for les Bleus’ final match of the competition – a defeat by Italy that would see France eliminated ignominiously from the tournament.

After promptly retiring from the international scene, Thuram elected to concentrate on club football. He was poised to sign a two year deal with Paris Saint-Germain only for the seemingly routine medical to find signs of a cardiac disease that killed his brother on a basketball court.

PSG had hoped that further tests would provide a definitive answer to the state of Thuram’s health. Apparently they have.

Today, according to reports in l’Equipe, an illustrious career is set to be halted prematurely.

During his playing career, Thuram won a record 142 caps in an international career spanning nearly a decade and a half. His career was studded with major honours, most notably World Cup and European Championship success at international level. In the club game, highlights included four Scudettos with Juventus (although two were later withdrawn) and a UEFA Cup triumph while with Parma.

L’Equipe suggests that the 36 year-old could take up a prominent position in the FFF or even become an ambassador of the national side

Coloccini has for weeks been angling for a move to the Tyneside outfit amidst acrimonious scenes at the Riazor. Now, though, he appears to have got his wish.

'SuperDepor' have accepted a bid from Newcastle that could reach Euro13m after incentives relating to factors such as appearance milestones and league finishes.

Newcastle, then, are preparing for one of several new faces that Kevin Keegan and his technical staff have deemed important to their push towards the top six next season.

Coloccini, a 26-year-old Argentina international, arrived at Depor in 2004 after an ill-fated, five-year spell at AC Milan. His time at San Siro was spent almost entirely out on loan, including three spells in Spain with Alavés, Atlético Madrid and Villarreal.

At Depor he proved to be a defender of legendary proportions, racking up well in excess of 100 appearances right across the back line. A recognised centre-back, he spent most of the 2006-07 campaign out on the right before shifting back to the centre as part of a 5-3-2 last year.

Overall Depor are sorry to see him leave, with coach Miguel Ángel Lotina now seeking a replacement.

"I have made clear what I'm looking for: the player and himself know it," he said, mysteriously.

"I won't say who it is until I've met with the President."

For his part, Coloccini has not formally put pen to paper with the Magpies just yet, but considering his desire to move to the north-east it can only be a matter of time.

另外前几天超级杯第一回合吾皇在先进一球的情况下2:3客场不敌蝙蝠军团,不过马脸哥状态相当的好,范德法特的融合也很快,德拉雷德表现不错

我们边锋快就够了.中锋要的就是精确度.马脸老二2个老妖怪一个不到4脚射门进一个,一个4脚射门进一个,怕毛.
再者,说速度的话,兔子速度很快的说,但问题是老苏对他有几分信任?西瓜和巴普速度都很快,但他们都很少能打中锋,当然巴普已经去罗马了

亨特拉尔估计也就吼吼,没戏.估计本赛季吾皇不会买前锋了,我也觉得前锋够了,只要用人不疑就成.

另外塞维利亚那的前锋太贵,吾皇去要人,不是天价不死星人的说

老二季前赛状态一般,还没进球的说.难道这段又跑去练体能,搞赛季储备去了?
范德法特的状态有点象去年的斯耐德,罗比案还没完,但是状态还是不错的,裸奔哥比较猛

PS 前段时间博斯克的第一届国家名单里没有老二和古蒂,和阿公的人员几乎一样,只是把塞尔吉奥换了博洋,我觉得这么做是对的.

现在离31号也不远了,真要兔子早该要了.而且人是逼出来的,当年莫罗受伤,古蒂不也打中锋打得蛮好的
丫就往死里顶西瓜好了,小青年有身体有速度,至于精度,这玩意绝对是磨出来的
