[新闻] 3DS的五月大更新延期了,美版六月六,日版六月七

For several months Nintendo has promised a system update for the Nintendo 3DS. This update would not only deliver a much-demanded Internet browser, but an online "eShop" and the ability to transfer content stores on a DSi to the 3DS.

This evening Nintendo updated its 3DS website with the following statement:

"A new system update for the hand-held Nintendo 3DS system will be available in North America the evening of June 6 Pacific time. By downloading the free update via a wireless broadband Internet connection, Nintendo 3DS users can enjoy new features and enhancements, including an Internet browser and access to the Nintendo eShop, where users can browse and purchase downloadable content."

No other details are available at the moment. We don't have full information on the functionality that will be available in June, or the games that might populate the eShop. Nintendo certainly has much more to share in the coming days.

The publisher's Japanese 3DS site has a new post saying the update in Japan will be available on June 7, which more or less corresponds with the North American messaging.

Stay tuned to IGN. We'll bring you more information on the global 3DS update as we hear it.

Update: Nintendo has announced that the software update will be available to DS owners in Europe starting June 7.
