任天堂：今年没有任何硬件降价的打算
TOKYO (Reuters) - Nintendo Co Ltd (7974.OS: Quote, Profile, Research) said it has no plan to cut the prices of its Wii console and DS handheld players this year, underscoring its confidence in continued demand for the Japanese videogame maker's two growth engines.

"Our earnings projection for the year is not based on hardware price cuts, and I don't think we are going to need them," Nintendo President Satoru Iwata told an analyst meeting on Friday.

Nintendo's Wii Fit launched to a frenzy of eager consumers in the UK today, and, according to high street store Woolworths, is being snapped up at a rate of 90 units per minute from their hundreds of outlets.

"This is a revolution in computer gaming. For a game not targeted at gamers to sell in numbers like this is unheard of and is genuinely changing the market," said Woolworths games trading manager Gerry Berkley.

Woolworths and other stores, writes WebUser, have reported queues around the country as Wii owners attempt to pick up the hottest Wii title of the year so far.
