On PlayStation 5, the 60fps mode is mostly solid, with slowdown only really manifesting in the most effects-heavy combat, where the screen is filled with taxing effects work. Meanwhile, the RT mode at a capped 30fps is consistent, properly frame-paced and sticks doggedly to its target for the vast majority of play with only minor deviations. Xbox Series consoles are similar, but what looks like occasional I/O stutter seen in last-gen versions (and also in PC) is present.

Dictator:
I see some people freaking out about settings here. This game is very expensive and has extremely high end effects work. RDNA 2.0 is not very good at ray tracing. They are targetting a high resolution at 60 or 30 fps. They decided, smartly, to keep the framerate high and stable at that resolution, which meant settings concessions.

Go checkout how this game runs at High with no RT on an RX 5700 XT if you want to see how PS5 will fair at higher settings (not well at 1440p).

Also people freaking out at low settings makes no sense - as tons of console games always run at low or lower than low settings. It is just that I do not make a video always covering every single release for people to freak about that fact about. Last gen, this was extremely common. This gen it will be the same. Consoles tend to favour higher resolution with lower settings in terms of design.

- PS5 and Series X tuns at 2560x1440p.
- The framerate runs mostly stable on both platforms, although some more drops in Series X.
- Ray-tracing more limited on consoles compared to PC. In some highlights there are fewer elements on PS5 anecdotally. Despite this, it is the best RT we currently have on consoles.
- The input lag in graphics mode is higher than in Oldgen versions. Quite annoying.
- Reflections without ray-tracing suffer from issues with the character model. This did not happen in the Oldgen versions.
- There is a bug that causes a desynchronization in the animation of the protagonist when running.
- The Xbox version still has some freezing problems when pausing the game or accessing the map.
- PS5 has a too dark tone, which forces to increase the brightness to obtain a similar result to the other versions.
