The era of awful infotainment systems could be coming to a close as Google, NVIDIA, Audi, General Motors, Honda and Hyundai have teamed up to create the Open Automotive Alliance.
Designed to bring the popular Android operating system to mainstream automobiles, the Open Automotive Alliance is "dedicated to a common platform that will drive innovation and make technology in the car safer and more intuitive for everyone."
The specifics are rather vague at this point but Open Automotive Alliance says we can expect to see the first cars with Android integration by the end of this year.
