out of curiosity, does anybody know the difference between the DVD version (this one on VIKI; 35 eps) and the TV version (the only version I can find available for download; 39 eps) of Palace?

well I think for this year kinda 3 drama about jump back to the time enough, otherwise it will spoil good ide and good rama like gong (they will say - "oh, gong about travel too?"

but, I don't think they must stop all wuxias, as they did it, and show only revilutionary movies and TVs.

So what does that mean? Any implications for the planned movie sequel? No matter how it'd turn out, I'd still like to watch.. Honestly, though 100 applications?? haha. well, too much of the same could be bad for the viewers too, they could quickly bore with this idea, and there are a few similar dramas out there anyway. So I support this in a way. There are still plenty of wuxia-idol dramas and well I suppose they will be coming put in the future- costume pieces is what they do best, to be honest. Modern mainland/Chinese dramas aren't that interesting.

I heard about that too! Apparently the board that issues the filming permissions and stuff, received something like 100 applications to film time-travelling genre dramas this year :/

Amazing drama!! Good combination of historical, romance, politics, fantasy and comedy. Heart-clenching and every episode worth the watch! I even got both my parents stuck on the computer screen, hehe. I give this drama 10 thumbs up

From what I know, jade was extremely expensive and auspicious (it is believed to ward off bad luck, or at least absorb it). So a lot of official signets, rings, plaques, etc were made of jade. In a couple of Chinese idioms, the term jade is also used to signify royalty
据我所知，玉石极其昂贵和吉祥的（人们相信它能抵御厄运或者至少能吸收厄运）。所以很多官印，戒指，牌匾等等都是玉做成的。在几个中国成语里特别的玉用来象征皇权。
(E.g 'jin zhi yu ye= gold twigs and jade leaves= descendants of the royal household).
（比如：金枝玉叶=金色的嫩枝和玉做的叶子=皇室晚辈）

Can someone explene to me meaning of word "Jade"? it use everythere in this drama, but emmm, I can't understand what it mean, my eng-russina translator say something like "old horse" lol

（译注：此人的翻译器说“old horse”应该是指死铁层。）

不能说因为咱TGFC一些所谓的高端有品观众把它喷得跟屎一样，其他地方的普通草民也都应该跟着把它喷得跟屎一样，当初还珠1，不光南亚很多国家，东亚的韩国及日本也有相当数量观众都喜欢看，某妹的鬼子同学就是因为看了那个剧后开始学中文的

而且不由想起之前的事，TBBT算是起码在TG这边比较收肯定的美剧了，欧美地区影响不小，但上次居然在个英国论坛上看到有些人把它喷得狗屎一样，当时还很奇怪，六人行那会应该没这么夸张的，记得英国扇子也很多的

很奇怪嘛，白种人看中国剧又不是什么稀罕事~

try finding the old series on LordMaChao176 its pretty good also, and more complete. theres also the japanese anime based on the 3 kingdoms.. (one was made in 2009, i didint see it, but i saw one that was older, and it explains a lot in there too..) of course theres always the real RotK written by Luo Guanzhong novel, which you can find and read online for free..

Actually, the 2009 anime version of RoTK is a cooperation between japan and china and i hear its pretty good..

If you are referring to Cao Cao and other civil ministers, its because they are not eunuchs, but ministers. Eunuchs tend to the emperor. Ministers and civil officials actually run the country.

So the ones bowing to Dong Zhuo in the beginning are civil ministers? I thought they were the court of eunuchs (I've read somewhere that at some point there were THOUSANDS of eunuchs in the governor's palace and administrative offices, and some sought power and were very close to the emperor).

Its probably confusing because eunuchs were also present in the scene, as well as the fact that Cao Cao was a relative of an eunuch. The role of eunuchs is to serve the Emperor's harem of concubines, since there are over a thousand concubine in the harem, (I think the standard was 1024). Basically they were desexed because the Emperor didn't want men touching his girls. They are lowly servants, but do rise up to great powers on occasion due to their close relationship with the emperor.

有可能有点搞不清，因为那个场景里太监也在，而且曹操是太监的亲戚。太监存在的目的是服侍皇帝后宫中的嫔妃，因为后宫里有一千多个嫔妃（我记得标准人数应该是1024）（吐槽：……擦！我怎么不知道！）他们被咔嚓了主要是因为皇帝不想让男人碰他的女人。他们是低级的仆人，但是运气好也可以因为和皇帝的关系好而得到极大的权利。

（这两个人还有很多关于剧情的讨论，我懒得翻了，反正大家都懂的=。=）

Well, that makes sense. Dynasty Warriors greatly exaggerated many of the appearances of some of the playable generals, as well as using many fictional weapons.
