VGChartz can reveal that Sony's latest exclusive title, Killzone 3 has sold 500,000 units worldwide in its first week for the PS3. Sony sold half of the units in the Americas, and half in EMEAA.
Roughly 10% of the 500,000 units were bundled with PS3 hardware, so there should be a modest lift for PS3 hardware during the week. The previous Killzone game on PS3, Killzone 2 released in 2009 and sold 750,000 units week one for the PS3. Killzone 2 went on to sell 2.58m units worldwide, more than tripling its week one figures over the past two years - a figure that Killzone 3 could still hit with a strong long-term sales performance.
