We messen Defenders iOS v4.2 eats your old save data. This was due to new hack protection logic (added to prevent cheating) going awry on old saves, believing them to be hacked data and overwriting them. This is all fixed up in iOS 4.3, which is submitted to Apple now and hopefully will be on the App Store soon, we'll let you know as soon as we have more info on that. If you have upgraded to 4.2 already, however, and lost your save data, we can't recover it because it's been overwritten. The Trendy team is truly sorry for your losses, and so are our fearless heroes...
To be clear, Android 4.3 (currently on Market) does not have this issue, and if you wait to upgrade to iOS 4.3 (when it releases), you won't get the issue either, as long as you've still got your heroes in iOS 1.0 or 2.0.
To help make it up to you guys, we're gonna be running a contest where we're giving away tons of promo codes for players who lost their heroes, for the upcoming PC/Console versions of the game, and some uber-large prizes to a lucky few. More details will follow on this shortly, on how to submit for a code.
We apologize to have caused any disappointment with the one-time hero deletion, and rest assured it will never happen again. Furthermore, we're going to be continually updating and adding to Dungeon Defenders mobile in the coming weeks and months, so you'll be able to look forward to boat-loads of new content, gameplay, and adventures to be had ("Second Wave"...). We hugely appreciate everyone's support of our indie team, and we're all excited to continue to work very hard to earn that support.
