The agent of Douglas Costa has claimed that Premier League giants Manchester United have begun talks with Gremio to purchase the youngster, according to a report emanating from Setanta.
The Red Devils are said to have been tracking the 18-year-old for the past couple of years and may now be ready to pounce following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.
The 11-time capped Brazil Under-20 international has been dubbed 'the new Ronaldinho' and Barcelona, as well as Los Blancos, have also been linked with him.
However, quotes attributed to the midfielder's representative Cesar Bottega suggest United are leading the pursuit of the £20 million-rated starlet.

5.Manchester United To Battle City For Barcelona Star Samuel Eto'o - Report

Manchester City have seemingly been joined by rivals Manchester United in the queue to persuade Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o to move to the Premier League, according to a local press report today.
With Roque Santa Cruz's move to Eastlands from Blackburn Rovers expected to be confirmed very shortly with the player undergoing a medical in Manchester, it was anticipated that Eto'o could be joining him in the City squad soon.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo's impending departure to Real Madrid, coupled with Carlos Tevez reportedly weighing up a move to either Chelsea or, again, City, United manager Alex Ferguson is apparently considering a shock move for Eto'o in order to boost his striking options, and possibly to regain the support of fans disappointed at the exits of Ronaldo and Tevez, as according to a report in The Manchester Evening News.

Manchester United's pursuit of Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes could be scuppered by the Catalunya outfit's willingness to meet the player's contract demands, and so the Premier League champions have instead turned to Villarreal goal guardian Diego Lopez, according to Sport.
United could be prepared to fork out around €20 million (£17m) for the goalkeeper’s signature – almost a fifth of the money they expect to receive from Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Real Madrid.

Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan has claimed that Antonio Valencia is the best player in the world in his position and will be a ‘sensation’ should he move to Manchester United.

“I think Antonio is the best wide right player anywhere, and that includes Franck Ribery,” said the Wigan chief.

“If this lad goes to Man United, he will be a sensation there.

"Within a few months and over the course of a season, the United supporters would come to worship this lad.

"We see him week-in, week-out in games and in training and he's a world-class player.”

Whelan also insisted that whilst Valencia was a different player to Ronaldo, United would be doing great business if they were to buy the winger.

"He doesn't play the same way as Ronaldo. There is no show or flash, but he's a world-class player and he'll take some replacing," added the Wigan man.

"No-one tackles him or takes the ball off him, because they can't get near him.

“At the kind of money that's been talked about for Antonio, he'd be an absolute steal.
United appear to be getting £80m for Ronaldo and they would be paying out a fraction of that for Valencia, so it would be great business because this boy has got immense ability.”

边锋的预备人选太少，隐患果然马上就出来了;
eto'o我个人一直很喜欢，技术出色速度快，不知疲倦，应该是非常克英超后卫的那种类型，年龄也还算可以接受，就是这个大嘴比较难管了;
有个问题，一堆买人传闻中就没中前卫，下赛季难道铁心让anderson打首发了？修正，科斯塔应该是中前卫，不过他和anderson应该不可能同时上，carrick防守时的回追能力又比较渣......
