Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Nemanja Vidic, Gary Neville and Louis Saha are all making good progress with their recovery from injury, while Patrice Evra should be fit to face Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The French left-back hobbled out of Tuesday's 2-0 win over Sheffield United with a calf complaint after a heavy tackle by Colin Kazim-Richards in the 21st minute.

Sir Alex says Evra has responded to treatment and will be available for the Teessiders' visit, as will John O'Shea (calf) and Rio Ferdinand (groin).

Elsewhere on the injury front, the United boss is hoping to have Neville (ankle) available for United's trip to Everton on Saturday week, while Vidic (collarbone) has a chance of returning to action in two weeks time.

Sir Alex hasn't put an exact date on Saha's possible return from a hamstring strain, but the boss insists things are looking much more positive.

"The situation is getting better," he told Manchester United Radio. "John O'Shea and Rio are back for Saturday and I think Patrice Evra will also be okay.

"Gary won't be ready for Middlesbrough or Milan but will hopefully be back for the Everton match. Vidic has beenraining and he could be ready in two weeks, while Louis Saha is starting to progress a bit now."

The Reds' boss is expecting a tough encounter against Gareth Southgate's men whom he fully expects to come and defend.

"I'm sure that will happen," he insisted. "There are areas we need to concentrate on - their two front players [Yakubu and Viduka] can be a handful and Stewart Downing is a good crosser of the ball.

"We've just got to play our football and enjoy ourselves. If we can play with the penetration we've shown all the season then I think we'll be okay."
