BIG-MATCH FACTS

Victory for Manchester United will all but clinch a 17th league championship and record 10th Premier League title for the Red Devils.
They actually need four points, but their goal difference advantage of 18
over second placed Chelsea is worth another point.

Chelsea go into Avram Grant's 50th match in charge, on the longest current unbeaten sequence in the Premier League of 18,
and on an amazing 80-match undefeated home league streak, stretching back four years and two months.

Both clubs are chasing the Champions League/Premier League double.

Indeed this match could be a dress rehearsal for the Champions League final in Moscow.

United come into this clash on the back of Wednesday's

goalless draw with Barcelona

in the Nou Camp in the first leg of the semi-finals;

John Arne Riise's

late, late own goal against Liverpool

at Anfield on Tuesday.

Chelsea clinched their second successive Premier League title in this fixture two seasons ago.

Last season Manchester United had just been crowned champions before visiting Stamford Bridge.

This time, Sir Alex Ferguson's men can effectively, if not mathematically, retain their title.
The Red Devils have retained the crown four times previously, in 1994, 1997, 2000 and 2001.

Victory for the Blues, would leave them equal on points with the Red Devils with two to play.
But to steal the title, the Stamford Bridge club would need to gain a better pair of results at Newcastle, and home to Bolton,
than United manage home to West Ham, and away to Wigan.

Conversely being only four points ahead of Arsenal, Chelsea could still concede second spot to the Gunners and miss out on direct qualification
to the group stages of next season's Champions League.

United have conceded just 19 league goals, and are on course for a club record low,
which currently stands at 23 shipped from 42 Second Division matches in 1924-25.

Manchester United are chasing a first goal in five Premier League visits to Stamford Bridge, and a first win there in six.

Chelsea have taken more Premier League points off United than any other club (40).

KEY PLAYER NOTES

Frank LAMPARD

is Chelsea's top scorer with 18 goals.

LAMPARD is also the clubs' leading marksmen in the Premier League, with 10.

Nicolas ANELKA

scored 10 for Bolton and has got one for Chelsea.

LAMPARD is either a double or a hat-trick short of 150 club career goals.
Football statisticians dispute whether West Ham's opener in the 3-3 draw away to Crystal Palace on 5 May 1998
was a Lampard goal or an own goal by Sasa Curcic.
Unfortunately the Dubious Goals Panel was not sitting in those days.

If selected:-

John TERRY will be making his 350th appearance for Chelsea.

Ricardo CARVALHO will be making his 100th Premier League appearance in Chelsea colours.

Cristiano RONALDO

is Manchester United's top scorer with 38 goals.

The Portuguese is also United's leading Premier League marksman with 28 from 29 starts, including seven from the last seven.
He is leading the race for the Barclays Golden Boot.

Between them,

RONALDO

Carlos TEVEZ

and

Wayne ROONEY

have scored 73 of Manchester United's 101 goals this season in all competitions, and 52 of their 73 (71%) in the Premier League.

Ryan GIGGS is still on course to equal

Bobby Charlton's

all time appearance record for Manchester United before the season is out.

The Wales international will match Charlton's 759 appearances,
if he plays a part in each of United's remaining matches and they get to the Champions League final.

If selected:-

John O'SHEA will be making his 200th career league appearance (Manchester United and Bournemouth).

If on the field from the outset:-

Long term injury, Gary NEVILLE will be making his 350th Premier League start for Manchester United.

Chris EAGLES will be making his 50th club league start (Manchester United, Watford and Sheffield Wednesday).

HEAD TO HEAD

Manchester United registered their first victory in six meetings with Chelsea (all competitions), in this season's reverse fixture.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side have not returned with three points from Stamford Bridge since their 0-3 triumph over Claudio Ranieri's side on 20 April 2002,
when Paul Scholes, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all scored.
