"I think he (Sir Alex Ferguson) possibly said it was his best squad, which means they have strength in depth. That is definitely correct.

"When he makes changes, when he tries to freshen up the team, invariably he brings in players of a very similar stature

"Ewood Park is not the easiest place to go but we are looking for top performances from our players.
It is in our hands.
We are two points in front with a game in hand, so hopefully we will make it count.

"Blackburn play attractive, attacking football. They have some exciting players and we have to bear that in mind.
But the players also need to trust each other because our form is good and we are not searching for anything."

BIG-MATCH FACTS

Victory for Manchester United over Blackburn in this teatime fixture,
will mean they can retain the Premier League title next Saturday lunchtime by beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

United could clinch an unprecedented 10th Premier League title and be crowned champions of England for the 17th time,
three days before booking their place in the Champions League final, should they defeat Barcelona in the semi-finals.

Blackburn's only chance of Europe is through the Intertoto Cup route, but they are the least well placed of three clubs in contention for qualification.

This is Rovers' eighth and last meeting of the season with a member of the 'Big Four'.
They have not won any of the previous seven, and lost the last four, including a 3-1 reverse at Liverpool last Sunday.

The Ewood Park club have not lost successive matches in 16 Premier League outings, since three defeats in a row
culminating in the home loss to Chelsea on 23 December.

Defeat here would be Rovers' 50th in the Premier League under Mark Hughes who made 472 appearances
and scored 162 goals in two distinguished spells as a player with Manchester United.

This match pits the club with the equal most draws in the Premier League with the one with the joint fewest;
Blackburn have finished all square 12 times, United five.

Manchester United have won their last three Premier League matches against Blackburn, but just one at Ewood Park in seven visits since 1999.

Blackburn have been beaten more often (15 times) and conceded more goals (48) to Manchester United than any other club in the Premier League.
